Hi, I’m Jerene Holt, and I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember.
I was born and raised in Jamaica, spent two years living in Florida, returned to Jamaica, and eventually made my way to Canada, where I now call home. Each place I’ve lived has shaped my perspective, influenced my creativity, and fueled my passion for visual storytelling.
Growing up, I often had a camera in my hand, drawn to capturing the world around me through a lens. I remember flipping through a photography book my dad bought—his own interest in photography may have quietly passed the torch to me. That love for composition, light, and story is something I’ve carried into every part of my creative journey.
Driven by curiosity and a desire to push my creative boundaries, I challenged myself to learn a new skill—graphic design. I dove into the deep end by enrolling in the Graphic Communications program at NAIT. While the journey has had its challenges, it’s also unlocked entirely new ways of thinking, problem-solving, and expressing ideas visually.
This website showcases my growth as both an artist and a designer. You’ll find a curated selection of design projects completed during my time at NAIT, alongside a small body of personal illustrations that reflect my creative style and passion beyond the classroom.
As I continue to grow in this field, I aim to keep exploring, experimenting, and creating thoughtful visual solutions that connect, inspire, and make an impact.
