This project began as a hand-drawn sketch in Procreate, which I later refined and finalized as a vector illustration in Adobe Illustrator.
The objective was to create an image using type characters as the primary design elements. I selected News Gothic for its clean, modern structure, and explored its form through creative composition. While the concept itself was assigned, I leaned into my love for fashion-inspired design to shape the overall aesthetic.
The final piece also features a short excerpt from an essay I wrote about the typeface, blending visual exploration with written insight to give the piece both structure and context.

I created two custom skateboard deck designs using a mix of type, raster, and vector elements. The artwork was inspired by the world’s rarest butterfly and the jungle. The teardrop-shaped jewels represent the rainforest, adding a touch of symbolism to the design.
To match the feel of the artwork, I adjusted the color, scale, and placement of my raster images in Photoshop, creating a more cohesive and balanced composition.
The same design approach was used for the shoes, combining type, images, and vector work. The skateboard artwork is shown on two deck mockups to highlight both styles, while the shoe art was applied to Converse mockups with the tongue design visible on the left side.

Gradient Mesh project
This illustration was created using Adobe Illustrator’s Gradient Mesh tool as the main technique.
The piece, titled "The Neon Woman," is based on a reference photo of a young woman with light hair, lit by red and blue neon lights. The image stood out to me right away—it was bold, vibrant, and had the kind of lighting I’m really drawn to. I’ve always loved neon and nighttime photography, so this was a chance to bring that interest into my design work.
I used a mix of tools, including opacity masks, textures from Photoshop, layering, blend modes, art brushes, and texture masks, to build depth and detail.
It took a few weeks to complete, since I was working on other projects at the same time, but I’m really happy with how it turned out.
Event T-Shirt
For this project, we created custom graphics and mockups for a fictional Renaissance fair. I designed a graphic reduction to match the event’s theme, which appears on the front of the shirt (top left). For the back, I was provided an image and created an additional reduction positioned at the nape of the neck.
All graphics were created in Adobe Illustrator, and the final shirts were mocked up using Photoshop.
This infographic was designed in Adobe Illustrator using provided statistics, then prepped for print and exported through Adobe Acrobat. While the data was supplied, all the visual layout, icons, and graphics were created by me to bring the information to life in a clean, engaging way.
